Donald Bean is a graduate of Howard Payne University - Brownwood, Texas.  He attended New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary - New Orleans, Louisiana and Hardin Simmons University/Logston School of Theology - Abilene, Texas.  He also attended Lamar University Technical School - Beaumont, Texas and is a graduate of Beaumont Charlton Pollard High school.  He was licensed and ordained to preach at First Baptist Church - Bevil Oaks, Texas. He has served in numerous community and civic organizations and has been an active member and officer in the Baptist associated offices in the Central Texas area.  He was called as Calvary's Pastor in June of 2001.

Bro. Bean is a former Nederland resident.  He later moved to Beaumont where he met and married Kristi (Lyle) Bean.  He is the father of three children: Ashley, Amanda, and Mikeal. He is an accomplished carpenter and builder. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, golfing, singing, and classic cars.
